Kèr Hi̊msush (/hi̘m/ /suʃ/ [basement] [simple]) is a subtropical Large Town located in the Kririsi̊mù Region of the Tetbur Commune.

The name Kèr Hi̊msush is derived from the Tauric language, as Kèr Hi̊msush was founded by Êgarêbmê Tudor, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Kèr Hi̊msush has a yearly average temperature of 24°C (75°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 31°C (87°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 18°C (64°F). Kèr Hi̊msush receives an average of 290 cm/y (114 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Kèr Hi̊msush covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 994 m (3261 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Kèr Hi̊msush was founded durring the late 13th century in spring of the year 1195, by Êgarêbmê Tudor. The establishment of Kèr Hi̊msush was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Kèr Hi̊msush's construction back out of the project. Êgarêbmê Tudor pushed on reguardles, and Kèr Hi̊msush was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Kèr Hi̊msush was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kèr Hi̊msush is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Kèr Hi̊msush is buildings are grouped arround an odd layout of crampt packed earth streets, which seems to be based on an overlapping squair patern such that there are small squares at the cornor of every bigger square. Sometimes buildings exist in the smaller squaires, other times they are open spaces, or occupied by temporary structures. The town has a defencive wall made from querried stone. The wall is equipped with a full set of battlments but the nature of its construction methodology leaves it somewhat vulnerable to siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. The town's cost-cutting-focused defences are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the towns defences.

Kèr Hi̊msush is not quite well. Something happened here, perhapse recently, perhapse long ago. Whatever it was, it settled into the very soul of the town like a festering wound. The people go about their day well enough, but there’s a tention in the air you can cut with a knife. You get the terrible feeling that whatever it was, the wound it left will simply never heal. This town is as a necropolice.

Civic Infrastructure

Kèr Hi̊msush has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Kèr Hi̊msush. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Kèr Hi̊msush's parks.

Kèr Hi̊msush has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Kèr Hi̊msush.

Kèr Hi̊msush has a government-funded child care program, overseen by the local Department of Nursemaids, which is responsible for providing childcare to working-class citizens according to local ordinances.

Kèr Hi̊msush has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Kèr Hi̊msush's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Kèr Hi̊msush has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Kèr Hi̊msush's natural decorations nor waterways.

Kèr Hi̊msush has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Kèr Hi̊msush has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Kèr Hi̊msush has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Kèr Hi̊msush is home to a University which provides higher education in a variety of fields, and also serves as a research institute for those same fields.

Cultural Notes

Kèr Hi̊msush's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its buildings being predominantly formed through the combination of basic geometric shapes. However, it shown in the detailing given to the structures such as its characteristic tall columns, intricate detail, symmetry, harmony, and balance in their designs to an astonishing degree of precision. Decorative elements for the buildings tended to be built into the structure itself, making great use of fluting, frescoes, inlays, and embossing.

In Kèr Hi̊msush most nights are accompanied by colorful ribbons of light in the sky.

The Atomie near Kèr Hi̊msush are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Kèr Hi̊msush's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves sacrificing an animal to channel Invocation energies of tier 3 via guttural bellowing.

Economy

A local has came up with a wonderful new idea (28821 % 6)+1 months ago; it may be a magical innovation, a new industrial process, a new agricultural product, a new use for what was thought to be ancient garbage, or some other very useful, profitable idea. Everyone around them is fighting for the chance to exploit this clever new plan.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century Grief Peak, an iconic vista located neare Kèr Hi̊msush, proved to be volcanic when the peak erupted. The eruption was isolated to the area around Kèr Hi̊msush, which was swallowed in ash, lava flows, and pyroclastic gasses. Kèr Hi̊msush lost 190 people, 252 livestock, and 39 buildings in the disaster. The event is forever remembered as the Day of Grief's Wrath.
